EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Guardian recently sat down for an in-depth interview with new mayor of Edinburg, Omar Ochoa.
Much of the discussion centered on Edinburg's growth. The four-time All America City is the fastest growing city in the Rio Grande Valley and one of the fastest growing in Texas. Ochoa said the healthcare sector was driving much of the growth.
In addition to discussing residential, retail and industrial expansion, Ochoa spoke about how the city manages that growth and its plans to invest in the infrastructure needed to sustain it.
He also spoke about his city's work to cultivate a better quality of life for its residents, including building a better nightlife scene. He also spoke about efforts to attract more investors from Mexico.
