PHARR, TEXAS - Fundación de Reynosa Asociación de Maquiladoras y Manufactureras, A.C., will host its annual Charity Golf Fall Fund Raiser at the Tierra Del Sol Golf Club in Pharr on Saturday.

The group is otherwise known as INDEX Reynosa Foundation.

Alfredo Guajardo, president of the group, said the golf tournament is one of the foundation’s main fundraising efforts and traditionally attracts manufacturing firms, logistics providers, real estate developers, and other key players in the regional economy.

He said over 200 maquiladora industry managers, suppliers and governmental friends from both sides of the border are expected to participate or attend. He said they will be joined by over 30 sponsor companies who will be showcasing their products and/or services out on the golf course.

“Each edition of the tournament reaffirms the solidarity of the business community in our region. It’s events like this that truly make a difference,” Guajardo said.

Mike Myers, coordinator of the foundation, said participating companies contribute not only with players but also with prizes and sponsorships. “They understand the importance of supporting the most vulnerable sectors of the community,” Myers said.

“Last year our charity golf fundraiser contributed over $100,000 to several local casa hogares, charities and ministries and our own Fundación Index Reynosa. Our 2025 plan is to continue to support multiple children’s charities and casa de hogares in the Reynosa and RGV areas whose needs are greater than ever.”

Myers’ said this year’s “guests of honor” will be: Rio Bravo Ministries, Miradas de Esperanza, CCTE, Children’s Haven International, Food Bank Reynosa and Fundacion indexReynosa.

“They will be stationed around the golf course passing out door prize raffle tickets for a small donation, which they will keep,” Myers said.

“If you would like to donate door prizes for the event; please drop them off at the Tierra del Sol golf course before October 3.”

Guajardo added: “The INDEX Reynosa Foundation is committed to projects with social impact that address the real needs of the region’s population.”
