BROWNSVILLE, Texas - The state of the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce is strong, says president and CEO Esmeralda “Esmy” Villarreal.
Villarreal gave the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service an exclusive video interview immediately following her State of the Chamber address. The event was held at the Brownsville Events Center.
In her remarks from the podium, Brownsville Chamber Chair Liliana Elizondo said the group had come through some challenging times. But in her speech, Villarreal was more upbeat. And she displayed the same positivity in her interview.
She explained how the Brownsville Chamber is membership-driven, with no automatic, line item funding coming from the City of Brownsville. She said the Chamber has also been recognized the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
