PALMVIEW, Texas - John Villarreal Rigney, Democrat, is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Texas' 15th Congressional District.
He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on March 5, 2024.
Villarreal Rigney, who lives in Edinburg, gave an interview to the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service at a recent house party in Palmview.
He said the residents of the 15th congressional district deserve to be represented in Congress by someone who can bring much-needed infrastructure to the area. He also said he would be proactive in helping small businesses.
Villarreal Rigney described himself as a ‘Blue Dog Democrat.’ He said there needs to be more bipartisanship in Congress and that the Biden Administration should work with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to secure the Texas-Mexico border.
