HARLINGEN, Texas - U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez explained how and why the current government shutdown should end.
In an interview with the Rio Grande Guardian, the McAllen Democrat also spoke about his concerns over cuts to the budget, particularly with relation to important healthcare programs.
Gonzalez said Texas is the least insured state in the nation and South Texas is the least insured region of Texas. He said, cuts to government programs will impact South Texas the most.
