MCALLEN, Texas - James C. Harrington, founder of the Texas Civil Rights Project, spoke at a book-signing event held at the España restaurant in McAllen recently.
His new book is titled "The Texas Civil Rights Project: How We Built a Social Justice Movement." The event was hosted by the Cine El Rey Theater Foundation.
In his speech, Harringon said he wrote the book to acknowledge the people he has worked with over the years.
"My heart has always been in the Valley and it has never left the Valley," Harrington said. "It has always been an honor for me to be in McAllen with people with moral courage in your part of the globe."
