BROWNSVILLE, Texas - Denis Garza is trustee for Brownsville ISD, Position 2.
Garza gave an exclusive interview to the Rio Grande Guardian about a big bond issue that will go before the voters of Brownsville in November.
Garza urged a "yes" vote on the bond, saying it is important for the future education of BISD students.
In the interview, Garza also spoke about a decline in student enrollment, caused by competition from charter schools.
She also spoke about parents keeping their students away from school because of the recent ICE raids.
