UTRGV to open a satellite office in Elsa

ELSA, Texas - UT-Rio Grande Valley is to open a new satellite location for its Office of Workforce and Economic Development in Elsa.

Details were announced at a signing ceremony and logo unveiling held at the offices of Elsa Economic Development Corporation.

Ron Garza, UTRGV’s associate vice president for workforce and economic development, spoke in depth about the work his office does and how small business owners in the Delta can benefit from the department’s new satellite presence. The Rio Grande Guardian International News Service will bring more details of Garza’s presentation in two upcoming videos.

Daniel Rivera, executive director of Elsa EDC, said UTRGV’s presence in the city will be a game changer for his city.

“Today was an exciting day for Elsa. We had the logo unveiling and the partnership ceremony with UTRGV and Ron Garza and the workforce and economic development team come over there,” Rivera said.

“We're really excited for Elsa to officially become a satellite location for UTRGV’s Workforce and Economic Development Office. It is going to give our entrepreneurs a really good chance to have resources available to them, classes and access to all the resources that UTRGV provides.”
