Texas is great but it can be greater. The potential of our state to be a national leader has always been there. We need to work hard and smart in the Texas Legislature to allow this potential to rise.
The challenge is to have real dialogue and real debate on how we help our state.
Salomon TorresIn too many areas --- education, health care, infrastructure, to name a few --- we lag and we do not lead. In fact, we lead at the bottom of the state rankings in many areas. How did we allow this to happen!
Texas has been blessed with great people, valuable resources and geography, and patriotism for a great state.
As senator for Texas District 27, I intend to work with the leadership, the Rio Grande Valley and Coastal Bend legislative delegations, and both Republicans and Democrats.
District 27 with its urban and thriving communities in the Valley and its proud rural and Coastal Bend counties to the north is a fabulous community to represent. I am excited to engage with voters and local leaders to start talking about solutions, not just the problems to resolve in Austin on their behalf.
We are a Texas region with deep faith in God and in the future. As a Texas State Senator, I would foster this conviction to act to improve the lives of ALL, not just a few.
