BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS - During an in-depth presentation on Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority’s current workload at a recent South Texas Manufacturer’s Association meeting held at the Brownsville Events Center, CCRMA Executive Director Pete Sepulveda spoke about the Old Alice Road project to improve the roadway.
“This project will connect the city of Los Fresnos to the Brownsville Sports Park,” Sepulveda said.
The proposed improvements are to reconstruct and widen the existing roadway to provide for a paved four-lane urban roadway with shoulders and sidewalks within the existing right-of-way.
“In less than 30 days we should get environmental clearance from the state,” he said.

Sepulveda said the design is complete and as for the funding, they have a funding gap they need to fill.
“We've got a small gap, about $2 million but we'll make that up,” he added. “This is a $40 million project, but a huge quality of life project for the City of Los Fresnos and for the City of Brownsville as well, and for Cameron County.”
