Reyna: Port of Brownsville at center of RioPlex's strategic priorities

Posted

Good morning, everyone — and thank you for being here.

I want to welcome our board members, visionary partners, and all of you who are helping shape the future of the RioPlex region. Your presence today reflects something important — alignment and momentum.

As outlined in our agenda, we are starting with a focus on one of our most strategic regional assests — the Port of Brownsville.

The Port is the only deepwater sea port on the U.S.-Mexico border, and it plays a critical role in international trade, energy and manufacturing. It supports thousands of jobs, hosts over 200 companies, and continues to grow as a hub for nearshoring and industrial expansion.

And that's why this moment matters.

Global supply chains are shifting. Manufacturing is moving closer to North America. Energy and logistics are being redefined — and our region is right in the middle of it.

The RioPlex region is no longer on the sidelines.

We are becoming a front door for trade, industry and investment.

To everyone in this room — this is more than a meeting. This is a working session.

We're here to align priorities, identify opportunities and move forward together. Because when the port grows, our entire region grows.

We're honored to have the Port leadership with us today to share their vision, projects and direction.

So let's lean in, ask questions, and continue building something meaningful — together.

Thank you — and with that, we'll begin.
