PHARR, Texas - One of Pharr EDC Foundation’s top fundraising events of the year takes place March 21 at Regency Hall in Pharr.
The foundation is hosting its 3rd Annual Casino Night. The event takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In 2021, Pharr EDC, with the full support of the City of Pharr, created the Pharr EDC Foundation. The goal was to support opportunities for Pharr area students to develop in-demand skills through education. A scholarship program was created as one of these opportunities.
Foundation Director Nydia Monzerrath Gonzalez said the main mission is to develop and promote the city’s future workforce, since a strong workforce with an in-demand skillset and core values is a determinant for business success.
“We believe in the power of education and workforce, the opportunities it brings, and the potential it unlocks,” Monzerrath Gonzalez said. “Our aim is clear: to advance socioeconomic status and enhance quality of life right here in the vibrant city of Pharr.”
