PHARR, Texas - Lilvette Santos, economic business development director of Pharr Economic Development Corporation, says she and Victor Perez, Pharr EDC’s president, just completed a successful trade mission to Aguascalientes, Mexico.
They were hosted in the city by Esau Garza de Vega, minister of economic development, science and technology, for the State of Aguascalientes. Garza de Vega agreed it was a successful meeting.
Working with Consejo Mexicano de Comercio Exterior Inversión y Tecnología (COMCE), Pharr EDC held an event titled: “So Pharr & Beyond: A Gateway to Synergies and Possibilities.”
“Thank you very much Esau for your diligence as secretary of economic development, science and technology of Aguascalientes. We greatly appreciate the time dedicated to our event, as well as your attention to us,” Santos posted on social media.
“It was important for us, the economic development corporation of the city of Pharr, Texas, to find out that Aguascalientes is not only an epicenter of major foreign investment, but also to witness first-hand a continuous growth in Aguascalientes, thus contributing in turn to that of Mexico.”
Santos added: “Again, thank you very much for the opportunity provided, and I have no doubt that it is the beginning of a successful bilateral relationship with a number of possible business development initiatives for both. Best regards.”
Santos provided her commentary in response to this posting on social media by Garza de Vega:
“It was a privilege to host business leaders, foreign trade experts and foreign investment representatives in Aguascalientes for the So Pharr & Beyond: A Gateway to Synergies and Possibilities event, organized in collaboration with Pharr Economic Development Corporation and the COMCE Oficial (Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior Inversión y Tecnología)
‘During the event, we had the distinguished presence of Sergio Contreras, executive president of COMCE; Susana Duque Roquero director general of COMCE; and Liborio Alberto Flores Mendoza president of COMCE Zacatecas, as well as Victor Perez, president and CEO of Pharr Economic Development Corporation, and Lilvette Santos, director of economic business development of the same organization.
“This meeting was a sign of Aguascalientes' commitment to take our products and services beyond borders. In an atmosphere of cooperation and shared vision, we addressed key issues to boost Aguascalientes' presence in the U.S. market: Pharr's demographic and commercial data, investment and development projections for the region, and the business opportunities that the United States offers to our entrepreneurs and companies.
“The presentation of the (Pharr) Global Business HUB was especially relevant, a program designed to support foreign companies interested in establishing themselves in the Texas Valley. This resource is an ally for our companies, providing advice and strategic contacts that reduce the risks of entering the U.S. market.
“For Aguascalientes, internationalization is a strategic objective that we promote with dedication and effort. With a focus on paving the way for our products and services to reach new markets, this type of event becomes a key pillar for the global projection of our region. Through platforms such as So Pharr & Beyond, we strengthen the bond with allies who recognize the value and potential of Aguascalientes as a reliable partner and generator of high-quality products for the U.S. market.
“Taking advantage of these moments of collaboration is essential to ensure that Aguascalientes continues to open doors for its entrepreneurs and companies in the United States, thus contributing to sustainable and solid economic growth for our region.”
