MCALLEN, Texas - A rearranged date for CIL’s eagerly anticipated McAllen Nearshoring Industrial Park groundbreaking ceremony has been announced.
The event will be held on Tuesday, December 5, starting at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at CIL’s Klub Nautique at 12 noon. CIL Capital and the City of McAllen will co-host the event.
The industrial park is being built on the corner of Idela and Ware Road in McAllen.
The groundbreaking ceremony was to to have taken place on Nov. 13 but had to be called off due to inclement weather.
Details of the project were first revealed by Susie Flores, director of US business recruitment for McAllen Economic Development Corporation, at the November meeting of the South Texas Manufacturers Association.
Flores said the park will be built on 128 acres, with CIL Capital the developers.
Flores said CIL will construct build-to-suit warehouses on the park. “It’s going to be attracting more companies to the area,” Flores said.
