As the Rio Grande Valley's largest integrated healthcare network, South Texas Health System (STHS) relies on a dedicated team of clinical and non-clinical professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care across its 12 facilities.

With more than 3,600 employees serving communities throughout the region, STHS continues to expand its workforce to meet the Valley's growing healthcare needs.

"Our employees are the foundation of STHS’ success," says Carolyn Petties, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, System Director of Human Resource Operations, STHS. "Their expertise, compassion and commitment enable us to provide exceptional care while continually enhancing access to healthcare services across the Valley. As we continue to grow, we're looking for talented individuals who share our mission and are eager to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve."

To support that growth, STHS will host its fourth annual Aim for the Star Career Fair on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the ballroom of the McAllen Convention Center.

The systemwide hiring event will feature more than 200 full-time and part-time opportunities across the STHS network, including positions in nursing, allied health, behavioral health, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, administration, environmental services, plant operations, information technology and more.

In recognition of their service and sacrifice, active military members and veterans will receive exclusive early admission from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with STHS recruiters and department leaders, learn about career opportunities throughout the healthcare system, complete online applications on site and participate in interviews. Qualified candidates may also receive provisional job offers during the event.

In addition to competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities, select positions offer sign-on bonuses.
