MCALLEN, Texas - McAllen Economic Development Corporation has a new president.
Elizabeth Suarez currently serves as president of McAllen Chamber of Commerce. She will keep this role in addition to taking over the reins at McAllen EDC.
The previous president of McAllen EDC, Keith Patridge, retired over a year ago.
In a video podcast with the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service, Suarez explained her vision for the EDC and how the EDC and the Chamber could collaborate in the future. She said the staff at MEDC would be transitioning from their office on Military Highway to the Chamber’s central McAllen location.
Joining Suarez on the podcast were Pablo Tagle, chairman of MEDC, and Hershal Patel, chairman of the McAllen Chamber. Like Suarez, the two chairmen are excited about what the future holds for McAllen. They believe a strategy of working in tandem can only enhance their respective entities.
