The PossAble Dream Adult High School represents a vision I have carried for many years.

In 2007, I established the first adult high school in Texas, serving students through age 26. I witnessed how a second chance can transform futures and entire families.

I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to complete their education and build a better future. The PossAble Dream is an extension of that belief and a promise that it is never too late to finish what you started.

Our work is about unmasking the potential within every adult, and creating possibilities that extend beyond the individual.

These graduates are proof that the right support can change the way a person sees themselves and what they believe is possible for their family. That is the power of recognizing what was within them all along.

To our founding class of 2026: Your accomplishments show what is possible when our potential is recognized and supported. I am proud of each of you and excited to see what you create for yourselves, your families, and your communities.

Editor’s Note: The above guest column was penned by Dr. Daniel P. King, founder and president of The PossAble Dream Foundation, and contained in the program for The PossAble Dream Adult High School’s inaugural graduation ceremonies. Ceremonies were held Aug. 7 in Edinburg and Aug. 8 in Brownsville.

Editor’s Note: A week before the graduation ceremonies, The PossAble Dream Foundation held a breakfast event for supporters and education and community leaders. It was held at the corporate headquarters of Lone Star National Bank in McAllen. Here, below, is a video recording of the remarks Dr. King gave that day:
