MCALLEN, Texas - The McAllen Citizens League recently hosted a network luncheon that focused on water resources. It was titled: "The State of Water in the Rio Grande Valley – Challenges and Solutions."
One of the panelists was retired irrigation district manager Sonny Hinojosa. In the Q&A portion of the program, Hinojosa was asked how many miles of irrigation canals the Valley has, how many of the canals need lining and how much it would cost.
