MCALLEN, Texas - Rita Hernandez is executive director of Cameron County Education Initiative.
Recently, Hernandez secured a $216,750 grant for the nonprofit from Rio-South Texas Education & Community Development Foundation.
The money will allow CCEI to expand its Medical Careers Training and Apprenticeship program.
