MCALLEN, Texas - McAllen Mayor Pro Tem Seby Haddad says his city is ready to embrace the Blue Zones project.

Blue Zones are locations where residents have particularly healthy and long lives. They include Okinawa, Japan; Ikaria, Greece; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; and Loma Linda, California.

Haddad recently spoke at a Blue Zones event, co-hosted by Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas and held at the McAllen Convention Center.

“With the Blue Zones project, McAllen is positioned to create measurable, sustainable improvements that benefit every resident. We are ready to lead and make history together. Choose McAllen. We are organized, committed and prepared to maximize your purpose and mission,” Haddad said.
