SAN BENITO, Texas - René Xavier González, head of new business development and marketing at SIDEE Construction, has given the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service an in-depth interview about his work.

SIDEE is developing the Los Palmares Industrial Park in Matamoros. Its focus is companies involved in manufacturing parts for the automotive industry.

González is also secretary of CODEM, the private sector economic development organization for Matamoros.

In his exclusive interview, González discussed the value of CODEM, what Tamaulipas has to do to benefit from near-shoring, electrical power capacity in Mexico, and strengthening relations between Matamoros and Brownsville.

González gave the interview at an event that saw a memorandum of understanding signed between CODEM and San Benito Economic Development Corporation. He said CODEM has a similar MOU with the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation and hopes to sign one soon with UT-Rio Grande Valley.
