EDINBURG, Texas - DHR Health will host a free Community Health Fair that aims to provide free screenings and health teaching sessions for the community, increasing the knowledge of the health resources they have close to home. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Edinburg Conference Center.
Families and their children are welcome to attend to take advantage of the free health screenings and other wellness information that will be offered.
“At DHR Health we are committed to equipping our community with the knowledge and tools that they need to live healthier lives,” Marissa Castañeda, senior executive vice president at DHR Health said. “We invite all members of our community to come and join us at this event.”
Screenings will include personalized recommendations and teaching sessions. The services will include blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, fibroscans, glucose, skin cancer, and vision.
In addition to health screenings, healthcare professionals from different medical specialties will be available to answer questions about chronic disease prevention, nutrition, mental health, and other important health topics.
Information about behavioral health, dental health, hospice care, medical weight loss, diet and nutrition, rehabilitation services, kidney transplant services, and women’s health services will also be provided.
The event will be held at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance located at 118 Paseo Del Prado in Edinburg.
