DHR Health to announce expansion of Brownsville hospital to meet growing healthcare needs

DHR Health will announce the expansion of healthcare access for the City of Brownsville and surrounding communities. This expansion will enhance emergency, surgical, and radiology services at its Brownsville hospital.

In a move aimed at significantly improving local healthcare access, DHR Health has announced plans to expand its Brownsville hospital, increasing both space and services to support the growing needs of patients across Cameron County. The expansion reflects DHR Health’s long-term commitment to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in Brownsville and its surrounding communities. The expansion is not only expected to improve clinical capacity but also to boost the local economy. Approximately 30 new jobs will be created to support the added services and meet increased demand for care.

The upcoming project will add 14,000 square feet of new and remodeled space to the existing DHR Health Brownsville hospital which is located at 4750 N. Expressway.
