DHR Health Women’s Hospital celebrated a major milestone – its 150,000th newborn delivery. This event honored patients, physicians, and dedicated staff who made this achievement possible. As the Rio Grande Valley’s first and only designated Level IV Maternal Facility, DHR Health Women’s Hospital is a free standing women’s hospital with advanced technology and an ICU. The facility is equipped to handle even the most complex maternal cases, providing the highest level of care for mothers and newborns. DHR Health Women’s Hospital is also recognized as a participant in the Texas 10 Step Program, assisting new mothers and their babies with breastfeeding. In attendance at the special event was hospital administration and staff members as well as honorees which included the very first baby born at DHR Health Women’s Hospital who is Solaris Kiara Matamoros. The event also featured the 150,000th newborn Jayden Balderas who was born on July 7, 2025. DHR Health Women’s Hospital opened in October 2007.
