RAYMONDVILLE, Texas - Willacy County Medical Emergency Services is hosting an eight-hour blood drive. The goal is to collect at least a unit of the lifesaving liquid.
A unit equals 500 ml of blood.
The EMS & Trauma Regional Advisory Council is holding the drive in conjunction with the South Texas Blood & Tissue.
EMS staff will be there to screen any potential blood donors.
Willacy County EMS is the main health provider of emergency care and it serves a big geographical area that includes Kenedy County.
So come on by and help out these organizations hosting the drive. Any blood type is needed.
Wanted: Blood donors.
Where: The Lee Memorial Tourist Center at 501 S. 7th Street in Raymondville.
When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Why: To collect blood for emergency services.
