EDINBURG, Texas - Bhat is back! Well, via Zoom at least.
Jayshree Bhat, the former assistant vice president for professional education and workforce development at UT-Rio Grande Valley left the region a few years ago to pursue her higher ed career in Vermont.
She is now based in North Carolina but is promoting a product she believes will work well in the Valley.
CareerSquad AI is a software product developed by UpSquad. It helps entry level workers interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.
Bhat is a consultant to UpSquad. She says CareerSquad AI helps job seekers through custom chat. She says this is an under-utilized, high impact solution that gives workers clear step by step guidance.
In a Zoom interview with the Rio Grande Guardian, Bhat introduced two of the leaders atvUpSquad, Eric Branch and Venki Mandapati.
We had eight questions for the UpSquad team. They were:
1. What do you think are some of the biggest healthcare workforce challenges in the Rio Grande Valley, and how will CareerSquad AI help address them?
2. What’s the biggest misconception about entering the healthcare industry, and how does CareerSquad AI help break down those barriers?
3. Many industries face workforce shortages, but what makes healthcare unique when it comes to hiring entry-level workers?
4.Why do you think a chat-based platform is particularly well suited to engage the demographic in the RGV in healthcare careers?
5. Can you walk us through how a resident, someone unfamiliar with the healthcare industry, would use CareerSquad AI to explore job opportunities and get started in a healthcare career?
6.Who are your ideal partners to launch a customized version of CareerSquad AI in the RGV?
7. Where do you see the future of entry-level healthcare workforce development going, and how can technology play a larger role in solving these challenges?
8. What are you looking for to scale your efforts in filling the high-demand entry-level healthcare workforce to support this region?
