Bechtel announces Supplier Fair for Port of Brownsville LNG project

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - Bechtel, the prime contractor for the liquefied natural gas export terminal being constructed at the Port of Brownsville, has organized a Supplier Fair for those interested in becoming suppliers to them.

The fair will take place on November 6 at the Brownsville Events Center. The event will start at 2:00 p.m.

The export terminal is being built by Rio Grande LNG, which is part of NextDecade.

Bechtel provided information about the Supplier Fair to the South Texas Manufacturers Association in case any of its members are interested.

Bechtel was one of the presenters at STMA’s most recent meeting at Rancho Viejo last month. Mike Willis, executive director of STMA, pointed out that the export terminal will take between six and seven years to construct and employ between 6,000 and 7,000 people for much of the time.

A flyer Bechtel has produced for the Supplier Fair says: “Every great project brings greater local opportunities. We invite you to visit us and learn how to join our extraordinary team.

Monica Tellam, community engagement and social performance specialist for Bechtel, told STMA: “Together with our customer, Rio Grande LNG, we are committed to supporting positive and sustainable community outcomes for Texas and the local region. We are committed to supporting a diverse supply chain that will provide the necessary items to deliver a well-constructed LNG facility for RGLNG.”
