MCALLEN, Texas - Mario Reyna, one of the lead organizers of the Hidalgo County Property Task Force, has provided details on an upcoming forum the group will be hosting.

The forum will be titled, “CEOs Unite: Let’s Get Uncomfortable. It is being held at South Texas College’s Pecan Campus on Dec. 8.

“So, we're looking at data and we are going to have some very, very powerful speakers at this event,” said Reyna, in an in-depth video interview with the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service.

In addition to high profile business leaders such as Joaquin Spamer, Jim Collins, and Val LaMantia, the forum will feature the research of four economists, Reyna said.

“I have seen some of the results of their research. One thing that is extremely profound is that within the last five years, they tell me that we have been graduated over 73,000 individuals from a certificate all the way to a PhD in our county. That is extremely significant.”

The Prosperity Task Force was set up by Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez to address poverty.

“We're very excited about this forum,” Reyna said.
