BROWNSVILLE, RGV – Brownsville city leaders and UT-Rio Grande Valley professor Rick Jenet have officially launched the Expanding Frontiers nonprofit.

The aim is to help to help spur economic activity in Space commercialization and exploration, and to help create NewSpace Brownsville.

The nonprofit was launched in the famous Pan American building at Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport.

One of the speakers at the event was Sean Casey, co-founder and managing director of Silicon Valley Space Center. After the event, Casey spoke with Rio Grande Guardian reporter Steve Taylor about the possibility of Brownsville making a mark in the Space industry.

That interview is featured in this podcast.

Editor’s Note: The above podcast is No. 7 in an eight part series on NewSpace Brownsville.
