EDINBURG, RGV – It is often said that Doctors Hospital at Renaissance delivers an elementary school of babies each month.
In fact, in 2016, the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance delivered 7,500 babies – a lot more than 12 average sized elementary schools in Texas.
The first baby to be delivered at the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance in 2017 was Regina Martinez. Her mom, Asbeidy Martinez of McAllen, said: “I would like to thank the staff at the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance, and my sister who used to be a nurse there. They were a great help during labor.”
Regina Martinez entered the world at 4:07 AM on January 1, 2017. She was a healthy six pounds nine ounces and 19 inches long. She was delivered by Dr. Lourdes Uribe.
“It is really a privilege to be a part of such milestones in the lives of families in our community—and it is extra special when it’s a New Year’s baby,” said Aida Gonzalez, vice president at the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance. “This is one of those special moments at the hospital and WHR is proud to have delivered another healthy baby.”
Gonzalez said the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance is committed to providing women and their families with the highest standards of family-focused, safe, and comfortable care.
She said the hospital’s highly-trained and qualified nursing staff is committed to providing education and support for new families.
