BROWNSVILLE, Texas – While much of the economy is shut down due tot he coronavirus, chambers of commerce have never been busier.

Many are hosting webinars to inform their members how to obtain government loans to help them stay afloat. Some are conducting surveys to see how bad the situation.

One of the busiest in the Rio Grande Valley is the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, led by its effervescent president and CEO Esmeralda “Esmy” Villarreal.

Villarreal was recently a guest on the Rio Grande Guardian’s Zoom conversation series, Community Spotlight. Here is the interview:
