WESLACO, Texas – The Texas Broadband Development Office and Connect Texas held a meeting recently at the offices of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council.
The purpose was to educate Valley communities on the funding opportunities available to expand broadband in the region and solicit feedback from local stakeholders.
At the event, the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service secured an exclusive interview with engineer Vineeta Ram, executive vice president of Houston-based CobbFendley.
Ram is leading her company’s efforts to improve broadband connectivity in Hidalgo County. Thus, she has an office in McAllen.
Hidalgo County has hired CobbFendley to help ascertain how serious the digital divide is in the county. Here is that exclusive interview:
