Video: Index Reynosa Foundation’s big golf tournament takes place Sept. 24 in Pharr

MCALLEN, Texas – Index Reynosa, the trade association for the maquiladora industry in Reynosa, has a foundation that raises money for worthy causes.

Each year the foundation hosts one charity golf tournament in the Rio Grande Valley in order to raise funds for the nonprofits it supports in Reynosa. 

This year’s Valley tournament takes place this Saturday, Sept. 24, at Tierra Del Sol golf course in Pharr. 

Mike Myers, director of the Index Reynosa Foundation, says the golf tournament has secured many sponsorships. In a video interview, Myers talks about the work of the foundation.

The Rio Grande Guardian International News Service secured the interview at a recent Index Reynosa general managers meeting held at the McAllen Convention Center. At the event the foundation gave out grants to a number of nonprofits based in Reynosa. Pictures from the event are contained in the slideshow above. The money for the grants was raised from another golf tournament, held earlier this year in Reynosa.
