MISSION, Texas – State Reps. Terry Canales, Sergio Muñoz, and R.D. ‘Bobby’ Guerra spoke at a recent groundbreaking ceremony for a project to expand Anzalduas International Bridge.
The $83-million-dollar infrastructure project will see the construction of commercial inspection facilities, including inspection booths, inspection docks, equipment, roadway, parking and sidewalks. The project will make improvements to the southbound inspection facilities and construct northbound facilities.
The project was made possible by a $25 million INFRA grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, a $22 million grant from the Texas Department of Transportation and a $63 million loan from the North American Development Bank to the City of McAllen.
Here are the remarks of Reps. Canales, Muñoz, and Guerra:
Quality journalism takes time, effort and…. Money!
Producing quality journalism is not cheap. The coronavirus has resulted in falling revenues across the newsrooms of the United States. However, The Rio Grande Guardian International News Service is committed to producing quality news reporting on the issues that matter to border residents. The support of our members is vital in ensuring our mission gets fulfilled.
