PHARR, Texas – The Pharr International Bridge recently celebrated the start of the fresh produce season with an event titled “Taste of Trade.”
Every year the Pharr Bridge Board hosts an event to bring together the growers and shippers of the fruits and vegetables that comes to the United States from Mexico through their bridge.
A new component of the celebration was an invitation for local chefs and restaurants to prepare some dishes made with the fresh produce that comes across the bridge.
One of the speakers was Luis Bazan, director of the Pharr International Bridge. Here are his remarks from the podium:
Quality journalism takes time, effort and…. Money!
Producing quality journalism is not cheap. The coronavirus has resulted in falling revenues across the newsrooms of the United States. However, The Rio Grande Guardian International News Service is committed to producing quality news reporting on the issues that matter to border residents. The support of our members is vital in ensuring our mission gets fulfilled.
