BROWNSVILLE, Texas – John Cowen, Jr., is a Brownsville city commissioner and chairman of the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation.
The Rio Grande Guardian International News Service recently interviewed Cowen about GBIC’s work. Cowen discussed Launch BTX, which, in collaboration with UTRGV, provides funding for research and development and high tech companies looking to move to Brownsville.
He also spoke about SpaceX, a planned liquified natural gas export terminal at the Port of Brownsville, the North Brownsville Industrial Park, plans to build another, even larger, industrial park, and internet access.
“This is a real pivotal point in our city’s history. We are on the map for some amazing things,” Cowen said.
