PHARR, Texas – Alejandro ‘Alex” Meade, who has just been appointed to the Texas Transportation Commission, is best known in the Rio Grande Valley for his work on economic development.
Meade is now executive vice president for economic development and public finance at Texas Regional Bank. But, he ran the Mission Economic Development Corporation for many years and before that consulted on economic development in Brownsville and Harlingen.
Last fall, Meade gave the keynote speech at RGV Focus’ Fall 2022 Retreat. It was held at the Pharr Development and Research Center. Meade spoke about his experience as an economic development specialist. He titled his presentation “State of Economic Development in the Rio Grande Valley.” Here, below, is a video recording of his remarks:
