PHARR, Texas – Four students who are members of the TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) club soared through their previous regional and state competitions which qualified them for the first time ever, to the National level event!
On June 21st through June 25th, four Vanguard Rembrandt students attended the Educator’s Rising National Competition in Dallas, TX. Educators Rising is the National Affiliate of the state organization- the Texas Association of Future Educators. This organization is dedicated to cultivating highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path to becoming accomplished educators. This year’s conference had more than 1,300 competitors from schools around the nation. Vanguard is proud to announce that all four young men came home winners.
The team of Aaron Aguilar (Senior), Jabes Gallardo (Junior) and Ignacio Gonzalez (Senior), earned 1st place in the Inside our Schools Presentation. The purpose of the Inside our Schools competition is to allow Educators Rising students to showcase one innovative strategy that their school employs to enhance teaching and learning. They present this strategy to a panel of judges through a video that they create.
Another competitor, Gabriel Sanchez (Junior), came home with a 3rd place win in the Lesson Planning and Delivery CTE division. This competition requires students to develop a lesson and teach it to a live classroom while recording the lesson. The student then presents the lesson video with a reflection to a panel of judges.
Congratulations to these talented young men!
