WESLACO, RGV- UT-Rio Grande Valley’s Center for Innovation & Commercialization and the RGV Angel Network has postponed its eagerly anticipated Pitch Academy.

Six startup companies were due to receive get expert business advice later this month.

However, the four-day event has now been rescheduled for October.

Applications from startup companies wishing to attend the Pitch Academy must be received by Oct. 6. The event itself takes place at the Center for Innovation & Commercialization in Weslaco on Oct. 21-24.

Centrally located in the City of Weslaco, the Center for Innovation and Commercialization (CIC) aims to transform the Rio Grande Valley by serving as a regional entrepreneurial hub. 

Laurie Simmons, the center’s manager, said the CIC is focused on providing the necessary resources and support systems to help our regional entrepreneurs create successful scalable enterprises that have the potential to reach national and/or international markets.

The CIC is an Economic Development Administration (EDA) University Center and is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Site.
