EDINBURG, Texas – Grab and Go sites are popping up all over the Rio Grande Valley, in response to parents being unable to provide food for their children.
A list of these sites has been collated by Ruby S. De La Garza, USDA Liaison in the Office of Partnerships & Public Engagement at the United States Department of Agriculture.
De La Garza has just added Baptist Temple to Hidalgo County’s list. They are offering meals from 4-6pm daily.
“Changes to this list are happening daily, but I plan to update it every Monday,” De La Garza said. She asks to be kept informed by school districts if any new sites are added to the Meals-To-You program.
“Likewise, if any additional organizations are offering meals, De La Garza would like to be told.
She plans to issue an updated list for Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr and Willacy counties every Monday.
