U.S. Rep. Rubén Hinojosa says the 50th anniversary of the Head Start Program deserves to be celebrated. It was signed into law by President Johnson in 1965. “It’s been statistically proven that high quality early childhood education gives a child the best opportunity to be successful later in life. Head Start is a key component of our nation’s commitment to equal opportunity, regardless of one’s circumstance of birth,” Hinojosa said.
