HARLINGEN, RGV – Texas Public Radio is to air a live call-in show on Monday evening titled ‘The Reality at the Border.’

TPR is teaming up with stations from Brownsville to El Paso for the show, which will start at 7 p.m. Monday and last an hour.

The show will be hosted by KSTX’s David Martin Davies, a veteran journalist with more than 20 years of experience covering Texas, the border and Mexico.

Among the guests will be reporters Alfredo Corchado of the Dallas Morning News, Melissa del Bosque of ProPublica, Reynaldo Leaños, Jr., of Texas Public Radio, and Dany Bahar, a fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institute.

Dan Katz, news director of Texas Public Radio, said the call-in show will focus on national security developments on the border, including the Border Wall, President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency and troop deployments.

“We want to hear directly from border residents about how this issue is impacting them, their families, their businesses and more,” Katz said.

Texas Public Radio stations are carrying the program in San Antonio, Del Rio, Gonzalez, Llano and The Hill Country. Marfa Public Radio, KTEP in El Paso, and RGV Public Radio 88 FM in the Rio Grande Valley are airing it as well.
