Join the RGV Hispanic Chamber, the Valley Partnership, Laredo and Corpus Christi Hispanic Chambers as they sponsor the South Texas/Rio Grande Valley Heavy Highway Forum on Thursday, April 18th at the Pharr Event Center.

The event is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and admission is free. Texas Secretary of State David Whitley will be the keynote speaker and Mayor Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez of Pharr will welcome everyone.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RHCA) invite contractors and consultants to participate in the TxDOT South Texas/Rio Grande Valley Heavy Highway Forum so you can meet with the TxDOT Laredo, Pharr and Corpus Christi district engineers and the statewide PEPS director to learn more about the opportunities coming during the first year of the 10-year, $70 billion Texas Unified Transportation (UTP) program roll-out. During the forum, you will have an opportunity to learn about the many professional and construction service opportunities coming to the 26-county region.

You will also have an opportunity to network and meet one-on-one with many of the prime contractors and consultants from the Architectural, Engineering & Construction (A/E/C) industry that will be pursing these projects and that will be looking for interested firms to partner with on these pursuits. Additionally, you will hear from industry leaders and experts about traditional vs. alternative project delivery methods in the heavy highway industry and how professional and construction service firms can position themselves to participate on may of these types of projects coming to the South Texas/Rio Grande Valley region.

In addition there will also be workshops on OSHA Construction Safety Training – Fall Protection in both English and Spanish and Finance, Capital and Bonding in the Heavy Highway Industry.
