AUSTIN, Texas – Members and supporters of the Rio Grande Valley Partnership visited the state Capitol in Austin recently to promote the upcoming RGV Legislative Tour.

RGVP hosts a tour for state lawmakers and their staff every other year when the legislature is in session. The upcoming event takes place in Cameron and Willacy counties from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29, 2023.

RGVP members took tamales from Delia’s to the various offices of the state lawmakers.

Among those that visited the Capitol were RGV President and CEO Daniel Silva, Alex Meade and Jesse Ozuna from Texas Regional Bank, Sergio Contreras of Atlas, Hall, Rodriguez, LLP, and Ricardo Lopez-Guerra with Strategic Public Affairs.

“We had a great turnout from all the House and Senate offices and great support for the event,” said Daniel Silva, president and CEO of the RGV Partnership.

“The Board of Directors of the RGV Partnership continue to advocate for investments in healthcare, transportation, education, and infrastructure in our four-county region.”

Silva added: “The strength and engagement of the Valley’s legislators will continue to make the tour a success.”

The chairwoman of the RGVP board of directors is Arlene Garza, president of Gulf Aviation.
