“We are putting on this Meet & Greet event so that the voters in Congressional District 15 and State Board of Education District 2 can get a better idea of who the candidates are that have made it to the runoffs,” said Cynthia Sakulenzki, president of RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“None of the candidates are incumbents so they may be new to some voters. Who are the candidates? Why are the running? What is their platform? Where do they stand on the top issues facing our state and our region? We hope to glean more information in a nice, informal setting.”
The candidates in the runoff election in CD 15 are Ruben Ramirez and Michelle Vallejo. The winner will face Republican Monica De La Cruz and Libertarian Ross Lynn Leone in the November general election.
The candidates in the runoff election in SBOE District 2 are Pete Garcia and Victor Perez. The winner will face Republican L.J. Francis in the November general election.
If voters cannot attend but would like to submit a question for the candidates please email: [email protected].
The runoff elections are on May 24, 2022.
