WESLACO, Texas – The RGV Partnership Foundation is distributing meals to local first responders on the front lines in the battle against COVID-19, giving back to those who are doing so much for the local community.
Today, the Foundation announced a $10,000 contribution from the AT&T Foundation and $2,500 from Pathfinder Public Affairs to support the local effort.
“These are challenging times, and we want to show our support for the individuals giving their all to keep the Rio Grande Valley safe and healthy,” said Sergio Contreras, CEO of RGVP Foundation. “We are thankful for the generous contributions that will make an impact across our four-county region as we support the brave first responders of the RGV.”
Leslie Ward, President of ATT-Texas, added, “Our first responders are on the front lines in the battle against COVID-19, responding to the needs of their communities and working to keep all of us safe. We are honored to do our part to support them during this unprecedented time. We remain fully committed to the Rio Grande Valley, to first responders throughout the state, and are proud to be part of this effort.”
With this funding, the RGVP Foundation will coordinate with locally owned restaurants to provide nutritious and convenient meals in support of the four-county First Responder Program, which includes county law enforcement officers and EMS, plus the region’s Healthcare First Responders (hospitals across the RGV). Thanks to the contribution, our local restaurants will get a much-needed boost as well.
