EDINBURG, RGV – Hidalgo County Judge Ramon Garcia fully supports a resolution passed by Hidalgo County Metropolitan Planning Organization that asks Governor Greg Abbott to create a single metropolitan planning organization for the Rio Grande Valley.
After reading about the resolution in the Rio Grande Guardian, Garcia re-tweeted the story. He then posted this comment on Facebook:
“Hidalgo County is proud to be a leader in the effort to unite the three Metropolitan Planning Organizations into one, stronger, more effective, regional MPO to better serve our communities. Together we will be the fifth largest MPO in the state.
“I congratulate the Hidalgo County MPO board and, specifically, Precinct 4 Commissioner Joseph Palacios, who represents Commissioners Court, for their role in moving it forward. I look forward to having our friends and partners in Cameron County join us.”
