BROWNSVILLE, RGV – Earlier this year, Josh Mejia was named executive director of Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation.
BCIC focuses on economic development projects aimed at improving the quality of life of Brownsville residents.
“We have a history of working on the development of parks, trail systems, improving tourism,” Mejia said. “But now you are starting to see a little bit more about working with the existing human capital that we have in our community, through promoting entrepreneurship and small business development.”
In a wide-ranging interview with Rio Grande Guardian reporter Steve Taylor, Mejia discusses the Expanding Frontiers Project, the eBridge project and the Business Improvement & Growth program.
