MCALLEN, RGV – Chambers of Commerce from across Tamaulipas met with the McAllen Chamber of Commerce on Friday at the Double Tree Suites in McAllen.
The McAllen Chamber hosts the BiNational Chambers gathering every two years.
Chamber leaders spent two and a half hours discussing issues such as border security, border bridge wait times, the impact of migration patterns, USMCA, the need for Presidents Trump and Lopez Obrador to meet, and strategies to foster binational business and friendship between Texas and Tamaulipas.
After the discussion, a news conference was held, in English and Spanish. It featured Julio Almanza, president of FECANACO, Tamaulipas, McAllen Chamber President Steve Ahlenius, Reynosa Mayor Maki Ortiz Dominguez, McAllen Mayor Jim Darling, Jose Manuel Lopez Campos, president of CONCANACO SERVYTUR, and Fernando Oliveira Lopez, secretary of tourism for the state of Tamaulipas.
