BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Paragon VTOL Aerospace, a lead innovator in vertical take-off and landing technology (VTOL), has been training Brownsville ISD students this summer on drone technology.
The tie-up came about thanks to a grant from the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation.
Because the summer course was so successful, Paragon and BISD are going to expand the program into a year long course. This would be unique, says the founder of Paragon, Dwight Smith.
In one of the accompanying podcasts, Smith explains why Paragon and Brownsville ISD are working together, what the future holds for the VTOL industry, and why Paragon chose to locate in Brownsville.
In the other podcast, Juan Chavez, who runs BISD’s career and technical education department, talks about how excited the students are to fly drones.
